Why we built ItemDocs
Every physical product should have one permanent place where its owner can find the manual, a fix or a person to call. We build that place, one product at a time.
Products outlive their paperwork. The manual is lost with the packaging, the warranty card is never posted, the support number on the box has changed, and the answer to the question a customer has today sits on page 34 of a PDF somewhere on the manufacturer’s website. So the customer searches, finds an old forum thread, and then calls support.
Manufacturers have the opposite problem. They know their product better than anyone, but once the box leaves the factory they can’t change what it says, and they can’t see which questions customers are actually asking. QR codes looked like the answer, until the code pointed to a PDF, or to a redirect that stopped working when a subscription lapsed.
ItemDocs gives every product model a permanent ID and one QR code that opens a page built for after-sales: Start Here, the manual, videos, how-to guides, troubleshooting, warranty and registration, spare parts and support, in up to ten languages. The manufacturer keeps it up to date from one Console and sees what customers search for and can’t find. Read how it works or open the demo.
Who is behind it
ItemDocs is built and operated by Nexivara, a sole proprietorship of its founder, Karan Bindal, based in Jaipur, India. It is a small business, so when you write or call, you reach the people who build the product.
We are deliberately careful about claims. Our guides cite the regulations they summarise, say when something is not legal advice, and say where ItemDocs helps and where it does not. Our security and privacy page describes exactly how the service is run.
What we hold ourselves to
Priced per product, never per scan
A scan is a customer getting help. We will not bill you for it or switch a code off because too many people used it. Plans count active products; the first one is free forever.
Printed codes keep working
A code on a box outlives any subscription decision. Discontinued products keep their full page; archived products keep their URL with your support details.
Customers stay anonymous
No accounts, no app and no cookies to read a page. Analytics use a daily-changing hash instead of IP addresses. Only customers who choose to register a product share their details, and they go to you.
Hosted in the EU
The application, database and files run in Frankfurt. Sub-processors are listed in the privacy notice.
Your data leaves when you do
Export products, IDs, content, translations, files, registrations and the activity log as JSON, analytics and registrations as CSV, and QR codes as SVG, PNG or PDF, whenever you like.
Honest about the limits
We say what ItemDocs does not do: no per-unit serial codes, no GS1 Digital Link, no Digital Product Passport, no pages on your own domain. If you need those, we say so up front.
